here comes the group of haters to say "After Alpha it's over".

Even though they had done that for Vince....and Wilma...and were wrong.

Beta? HIGHLY likely.

^ That's what I'm thinking.

I know nothing about the weather however something tells me this season is not your typical.

I would not be suprised if we see hurricanes after the season officially ends.

I would say it's highly likely... based on how this season has gone so far.

Seems like everytime we think it's over 3 more pop up.

For what it is worth...

Over the past 30 years we've averaged 9.57 tropical storms by October 22nd. The full-season average for this time period is 10.67 tropical storms. That gives us an average 1.10 tropical storms to go. (Beta)

Over the past 10 years we've averaged 12.60 tropical storms by October 22nd. The full-season average for this time period is 13.90 tropical storms. That gives us an average 1.30 tropical storms to go. (Beta)

However, 2005 has been running at near 220% of normal. If the rest of the season maintains this pace, we're looking at 2.41 to 2.85 more tropical storms before the year is over. (Gamma - Delta)

Remember... we have 39 more days left in the regular season...

Too many things have happend this year not to say it isn't possible. As we've all seen, it seems anything is possible.

I think there is a very good chance to see Beta, and perhaps Gamma and Delta. Even if we don't see any storms in November, we may have a December storm similar to 03 and 04.

Given this Hurricane Season I'd be more surprised if we didn't see Beta this year than if we did.

I'm thinking Gamma, but would not be surprised if there was Tropical Storm or Hurricane Epsilon.
