MWATKINS, Derrick,or any Forecaster about 99L

#1 Postby rjgator » Fri Oct 21, 2005 5:29 pm

I have been reading and listening to you for years and value your opinion. I live in Parkland and left my house today shuttered for a two week sailing trip in the Virgin Islands only to find that the wave that this mornings TWO said conditions were not favorable for development is now an invest 99 and the winds are whipping here. I have very limited access to the internet and wonder what your thoughts are on 99L and how long the weather will impact the BVI's. Our plane could not even land for over an hour today in Tortola BVI due to 55+ MPH winds from the east. My family and I are stuck in a rancid $200 night hotel and I can not take the boat until the winds settle. They are blowing about 30 MPH gusting to 45 :( from the East and the pressure on my handheld Kestrel is 1012.2 and falling. Most people are focusing (As they should) on Wilma. Can you guys give me an idea of what you think the impact this storm will have on the Virgin Islands and how long it will be until it moves out. Anyhting will Help. I will continue to read the specific post on 99L but would appreciate anyones feedback or forecasts on this system. I also cannot use my laptop anywhere and have no links to the SFWMD model site. Let me know your thoughts.
