I wonder if it might be a depression already... it has some strong winds with it and is looking good on satellite imagery.

When will RECON investigate this system? I think they should go as early as tonight or as late as tomorrow morning. Maybe we may have more information regarding this on the 5:30 PM TWO.

And Steve Lyons was just on, mentioned it for like 5 seconds and said there's no signs of tropical development and then he disappeared...literally...some camera trick thing where they remove him from the screen....but it was funny

Well Sandy in todays plan of the day nothing was mentioned about tasking this system. That means we will have to wait for tommows plan of the day to see if a plane will go on sunday.
All the resources are being used now to go to Wilma.

Matt, this is a statement you made from another thread...
I believe that system called 95L will become Vince. Then maybe another one in Novermeber. But no Alpha

It looks REALLY impressive, but I can't see a closed circulation yet. Although, if the convection remains that deep, I could easily see one forming tonight.

Winds just howling here! I know I'm up on a hill, but I'm facing west, with a hill behind me to the SE, the current wind direction. I'd normally expect some protection, but not in these conditions. The furniture went "running" across the porch a few hours ago, two potted palms blew over. I'm leaving it all 'as is' until this wind dies down.

cycloneye- would it be alright if the ones that want to cheer on for an alpha had a seperate thread so those that are in harms way don't have to deal with it? Just think it would be alot better for them to not have to deal with it.

Sorry to be a bit surly but with the powerful Wilma out there, what is wrong with cheering on what should be a rather meaningless Invest 99 to become the historic ALPHA???

There's enough tension out there, let's loosen up a bit, eh? :coaster:

OK, its all right with me. Let's everyone just chill, and express our opinions in a good-natured way. We can all do that, it's a weather forum, after all. :D

Die 99L.INVEST!
Please quickly fizzle into a harmless wave. We've already had enough of you!!! I don't care if we don't break a record (oh dear, may get flamed for that), it's not worth having hazardous weather causing possible fatalities. I refuse to root for you, because I'm here feeling your power, and can tell you will develop, and there are some very poor countries in your path, such a Haiti...
