No departure yet from base so they are delayed for more than an hour already.

The NOAA flight is more of a sampling of the atmosphere, and not so much of the storm?

Well it is in the area but it is a NOAA plane so the information is slow to come than from the AF folks. It has been almost an hour since the last data came in.I hope there is nothing wrong with them.

Is this a flight that was sent out just to get the synoptics around the storm to feed into the models to try and help them predict the future path?
