Since each area has its own discussion thread thought I wouldd start one for this area since you might be affected as well-

Maybe the associated air mass will help make it a bit warmer up here (Am not looking forward to Snow on Monday)

I'm getting batteries and a flashlight just in case. All the powerlines in my neighborhood are ABOVE GROUND with VERY OLD TREES around them :roll:

A light breeze makes the power blink in my building....so better safe than sorry.

Good idea terstorm, the apt building here loses power once a month..you sneeze and your electric goes out

Snow monday? you're not too far from me and we're supposed to be in the low 60s, high 50s....

There's some moisture up in PA with the thickness values below 540 on Monday. http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod ... p_108s.gif I think seeing 60 is extremely optimistic. We're not expecting to see 70 way down here.

Ok, here is my clueless question of the day!! What is thickness value?

P.S. Current forecast for mon here in Northern NJ is high of 60.......is someone who is supposed to know as clueless as I am???

How cold the air above the ground is... typically the 540 line is used to determine the freezing precip vs. rain line.

With it Late October though, that may not verify like it would in December or January.

WOW... "Around 60" here on Monday. :eek:

The cold air will come in later to NJ though. It'll probably be Tuesday before the really cold air hits.

So essentially, after (maybe) Wilma, I should see some really unpleasent cold weather. brrrrr....time to bust out the hat and gloves. Not the earliest I've done so, but getting close.
