Dry air intrusion just ahead?

#1 Postby DLI2k5 » Wed Oct 19, 2005 8:45 pm

I was viewing a post on another site and the poster had said Wilma was about to approach a large area of dry air intrusion that would diminish the strength of the storm. Would love for some peolple to give insight to this and if that is what truly lies ahead of it.

Yup, I suppose I am. Its a surprise they bring it back up to a Cat 5, they normally underestimate the strength of a storm...but I guess I'll get some crow ready just in case.

the pressure is 894, I'm amazed how this is not a Cat 5 with such pressures-normally this would equal to 180 mph winds

When recon measured 892 earlier today it looked worse than it did now.

I'm gonna have to disagree, looking at the loop, it looked a lot better 5-6 hours ago.

Actually, there were signs of some dry air intrusion on the western side a couple hours ago, but in the last few frames the convection has filled back in.
