Just heard on the radio (Schnitt Show) that Max Mayfield may be announcing a track change.

A fellow (Pancast ? not sure of his name) who has contact with NHC reported that Wilma may be stalling and may not be picked up by the trough. This will be the context of the press conference.

Either that or their lack of confidence in their forecast of landfall on the Florida Coast.

I highly, highly doubt that they're going to announce a track change. Like someone else said above, they may be announcing track uncertainty, which is respectable. The way I see it, GFS changed slightly, causing two other models to have one arguably bad run. I will be watching nonetheless.

Does the stall mean no hit for Florida or a more north or south hit?

If you are in S. Fla, I would expect it would be carried live by local news stations.

Sounds to me, based on the press conference and don't really have a clue.

Changes in models...25 ft storm surge possible at landfall...slower track...lower confidence than normal.
