I don't think the eye has disappeared, you just can't see something 7 miles wide on such satellite pics.

exactly...also, with the explosive thunderstorm tops blowing up around it, those will often cover the eye up of developing hurricanes. you can't see the eye from the satellite because of the storms, but it's still there. I have no doubt that an eye would be visible on radar.

Recon is going back through the eye... 91 mph @ flight level so far...

Just got back from the doctor.... HOLY TOLEDO ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 954 MB? This is like watching a rerun of Rita, we were flabbergasted when we watched her pressure plummet. Now the wind speeds have got to catch up.
