What happened to the East Coast storms?
JB and others hyped up an active East coast season yet they've had VERY little if any activity this season. This has obviously been the year of the GOM storms. What happened?

East Coast really only had one -- Ophelia, and that was considered a brush not a hit.
IIRC Wilma would be the 13th storm to get in the GOM. Unbelievable.

I'm glad for a break from all the action, the 90's were bad unough, uggghhh, and we have had a ton since then, so we finally get our break, and Ophelia may have only been a "brush" but I'm seeing more blue tarps here than after Isabel, not to mention the fact that her winds stayed over us for several days...

yepp!!! No true Cape Verde storms at all this year like a hugo or Floyd. Next year might be our turn??? We will have to wait and see..........nequad wrote:It's very simple- the lack of Cape Verde storms.
Wilma *could* potentially rake the east coast-but we will have to see about that, and it certainly is not likely.

maybe next year could be a complete bust. I sure hope so because it will take years to recover from the 3 storms we have had this year so far. I will never again hope for an active GOM year.
