Hurricane Wilma Recon Discussion Thread

As I don't see much discussion about the recon in the regular discussion thread, this is for those who wish to discuss the ongoing recon and don't have a specific question for senorpepr, or don't wish to bother him.

If a mod feels this is unnecessary, feel free to delete it.

No that's the main recon thread. For the reports only, with no replies. WindRunner is suggesting a thread where we discuss the recon.

Yes, I know where the recon is being posted, but as discussion is being held out of that thread, I thought that maybe another thread could be started for those questions about recon that people usually post directly into the reports thread.

I was directing the members to the TD24 big thread to post their comments about the recon data but I dont mind if a thread only dedicated to talk about the recon data is up so go ahead. :)

So based on latest observations the surface winds remain around 35 mph.

wow

there was so much hype about this storm and not that it's dead but it almost feels that way... in a way...

nobody listen to me though. this has the potential to be a huge storm... I'm just saying ...it seems... quiet ...maybe the calm before the storm... I'll probably get up tomorrow morning and find we have hurricane Wilma... wouldnt that be something!

Pressure now at 1001mb still about 35mph winds.

Normally 1001 mbs is tropical storm but this system still does not have the inner core tight.

most recently, there is a blob of convection forming right over the center, I expect a TS by tonight.

Rita became a TS with 1006mb pressure.

Stayed a TS for a while then we know the rest.

F. SFC TO 10,000 FT

Above is the timeframe for this mission.It's almost over for the plane to be around rthe system.Let's see if they go thru the NE Quad before they go.
