Survivor Guatemala Premieres Sept. 15th
Moderator: S2k Moderators
When it came to Bobby Jon or Stephenie, Steph was my favorite. But watching Bobby Jon interact with his tribe in Guatemala, I've been really impressed with how he plays the game. He still seems very grateful to have been given a second chance. With Steph she seems to have a vendetta with the Survivor God's! She wants to break this curse she has on her head. Give it a rest Steph! I really admired what Bobby Jon said last night, he hates to end anyone's dream and send them home. Meanwhile Steph goes on and on about being on a losing tribe. If they voted her off next week, I'd say good riddance......
You know Lydia could become my favorite. She does have that go get 'em spirit, and I admire that also. She woke up and just decided to make the best out of the situation. Steph woke up and complained endlessly. I also realize the editors want us to see her complaining so much. She could have done this in Palau, but they featured other contestants on air. This go around, they could be focusing on how she's handling playing the game again. But what do I know.....again, she is pegged - loser - in my family. You know Stephenie does not want to be perceived as a loser!
Previews for next week look bad for Amy. She gets injured again. Poor girl!

Oh come on now. I still like Steph. I was happy her tribe finally won last night and didn't have to go to tribal. I really hope she does stay around a while and breaks the curse she obviously does have, although a positive attitude would do her good. I didn't notice her complaining too much. No more than I think I would have being in her situation. Girl is a stonge competitor and she keeps getting jipped. I feel her pain.
I love Lydia as well. She is great. I love her work ethic and her positve attitude. She did a great job in the challange last night too. Goes to show that physical strenth isn't everything in this game. You also need someone who can bring the tribes moral up. I think alot of times that a strong will and determination out does someone with the physical strenth. I have seen it over and over in past survivors.
And next week...... oh no, Amy does it again. I wonder how bad it is this time. I think her days are numbered. I have a feeling she is next to go if they go to tribal. We shall see. I am also intrested to she how this whole face off between Bobby John and Jamie goes.

Yes... it started in Late July with Borneo. It was airing 4 nights a week(Monday-Thursday at 7pm) with a bunch of re-airings and now it's only Wednesdays 7-10pm due to hockey.

Was Survivor's Blake a Big Boob?
by Angel Cohn
If you think Survivor's Blake has a lot to say, be sure not to miss our Insider Q&A with The Apprentice's Toral!
The odds were against it, but last week on Survivor: Guatemala, Blake Towsley was picked off by the newly formed Yaxha tribe — and the 24-year-old model-real estate broker never saw it coming. No, he thought that since his old Nakum alliance had an advantage over the original Yaxhas, he was set. But that was before he opened his mouth, and started talking about, well, everything. (One particular comment about the size of his girlfriend's breasts may have been what did him in!) TVGuide.com spoke with Blake about the "DD" girl, getting stabbed by a poisonous tree and getting stabbed in the back by Bri.
TVGuide.com: You seemed surprised that you torch got snuffed. Did you recover from the shock?
Blake Towsley: Yeah, I guess I'll be all right. I'm still coping with it, slowly but surely....
TVGuide.com: Watching it on TV, did you see how Brian really was the manipulator of this whole thing?
Blake: Brian didn't manipulate as much as he'd like to think he did. He kind of built himself up as the big orchestrator of kicking me off, but he really had nothing to do with it. He didn't [speak too well] of me, while I did nothing but defend him.
TVGuide.com: Well, you were going to vote him off!
Blake: I was, purely on the basis that we had the odds, so it just made sense. Of the three [original Yaxha's], Gary was the strongest and Amy was the most entertaining, and then there was Brian. You don't make it a personal issue, but we both kind of made it personal.
TVGuide.com: One big complaint was that you talk too much. Do you think so, or were you just bored?
Blake: I'm sure I talked a lot, because we had the pool and were laying by the pool. If I hadn't gotten voted off, it would have been about Brian and his ego, but since I did get voted off, it was all about me talking. It's just editing. I'm not thrilled about it, but it's not the worst thing that could happen.
TVGuide.com: How cool was that pool?
Blake: The pool was cool. Even Bobby Jon, who spent 21 days in Palau, said it was the best reward he could think of. Being able to get in the water was so important.
TVGuide.com: Are you ever going to go back to Guatemala?
Blake: Guatemala is never again on my visitation list. Costa Rica, Honduras, Belize... beautiful countries, but Guatemala is definitely the armpit of central America.
TVGuide.com: You came out of the jungle injured and dehydrated. What exactly happened?
Blake: They told us there were tow trees you absolutely don't want to touch — one had black sap, which you could kind of look out for, and the other had spikes that you had to avoid at all costs. Jim stood on the base of [a spiked tree] to try to get himself up a hillside, and [when he fell off] the tree snapped over my shoulder and drove me to the ground, sticking some 20 thorns into my shoulder. Margaret got all of them out but about five or six, and the next day she got three more out.
TVGuide.com: Did you get medical attention once you left the island?
Blake: No. By that time, two weeks had passed and it healed over. The doctors offered to cut the last two out, but they said not to worry if they weren't bothering me. They're still in my shoulder. You can kind of feel them if you push around. Supposedly if they get infected, they'll push out of the skin and that's when they'll cut them out.
TVGuide.com: Are you going to buy Nurse Margaret some flowers or something?
Blake: Actually, my mom asked for her address.
TVGuide.com: How did you manage to be up and running around for the very next challenge?
Blake: Adrenaline. Playing high school and college sports, you don't let the little things get you down. You focus on the greater good, and the greater good is for my team to win. [Before filming, executive producer] Mark Burnett talked to us about people who had quit and become pariahs in their community, and I refused to do that. Quitting wasn't an option. I could have been 100 pounds, wet and out there after 38 days and I still would have been putting it out.
TVGuide.com: Were you shocked by how difficult Survivor: Guatemala really was?
Blake: Totally. Once you're on reality TV, you try to defend it. You think they give you bottled water, porta-potties.... But we got so bad after the basketball game, we almost had to go to the hospital. It got rough, and that was not how I thought it would be. It certainly wasn't Palau, where they had a house on the beach and hammocks.
TVGuide.com: Did you think any of the girls were cute?
Blake: If it weren't that situation and it wasn't so foul.... I could tell they were trying to pair me up with Danni. She was a beautiful girl before the show — during the show she got so thin — and a great girl, but we just don't have that much in common. Brianna and Morgan were really pretty sweet. I had no complaints about the girls on the show. Some of the guys weren't my favorite, but what are you going to do?
TVGuide.com: Guys other than Brian?
Blake: I never really had a problem with Brian; he was just being an egomaniac and was so impressed about himself that he was lying about his college, and saying that he was a big Survivor freak and he was going to play us all. I didn't get along as well with Jamie and Judd, but that's just personality clashes.
TVGuide.com: I have to ask: Are you still with the "double-D" girl?
Blake: Yes. She's great, she just called a minute ago. She's like, "I can't believe my boobs got you voted off Survivor." I'm like, "Let's not flatter yourself too much...." — but it probably didn't help.
TVGuide.com: That seemed to be what put the "frat boy" image in Danni's mind.
Blake: She said that, but we hung out and were really close. I'm probably the least "fratty" guy you'll ever meet. I was president of fraternity and so forth, but I'm not that kind of guy. You're never going to see me funneling a beer or anything like that.

Mmmm, wouldn't it be something if both Bobby Jon and Stephenie get voted off? Steph's irriatating some but I don't think BJ is though.
Two tribal councils, that's something to look forward to.
I still do not have a favorite. After all this time! Keep thinking it might be Amy, but doesn't she get injured again tonight? She could get voted off or ask to go home. Wait, that's Amy, she won't go easily! I've sprained my ankles so many times, they're weak and I easily turn them, just going out to garage taking the garbage out once, yep, spun in place, turned one over and it was swollen. Anyway, each time she shows how her ankle is healing, I just wince like crazy. She's a trooper. I don't know if I could stick it out w/o an ice pack, Ibuprohpen, serious drugs if my ankle was sprained.

Double trial council. Both tribes will vote someone out.
Bobby Jon and Jamie have a major fight, too!
Yep and Amy gets hurt during the reward challenge(there's only one, it involves a big ball and it seems to be 2 vs. 2).
I am not completely sure if it will work like last season where one tribe wins food, gets to watch the other tribe TC's or what. I just know one from each is going home.

Hope Mr. EGO is voted OUT soon one of these weeks!

Tonight's show was really good! Poor Amy, another injury but she's a trooper. Margaret and Judd at Tribal Council.....OMG, I thought the guy was going to strangle her, no prompting from Jeff. What I found funny was how they edited what we saw. First Judd is bragging at camp, how he feels good about not being voted out, he's good at challenges, etc. And then he wants an extra beer.....LOL The beer is what did him in and his attitude. It seemed to go downhill from there. Swapping a hot dog for beer, nothing wrong with that. As long as it's agreed upon. But to take more than your share, then get a huge chip on your shoulder to justify it or pretend there's more beer than there is, well, Eric I truly thought he was a goner too! Margaret's no Rafe, in the camp cheer leader/nice member dept., she became a real drag but she wasn't rude. Just eh, why am I here again kinda thinking. It did make sense voting off Margaret.
Revealing who Rafe gave immunity to until after the votes were read, was a switch, wasn't it? Of all people, Gary! Never thought he would give it to Gary.
It was to see Brian go though. He was his tribe's resident cheer leader. Fair minded, we can do this kind of spirit. He'll be missed.
Well, that's all I got......next!

Eric,
Again, we think alike. I've wondered also how he interacts with his hotel guests......don't let that door hit you on the backside? LOL He just comes across as an arrogant man, full of himself. He does run his mouth too much, Margaret was right about that. But she was too much of a mother hen too. Wow, those 2 just hated eachother! Kinda of interesting.....wonder if they'll go at it again at the reunion show? he he

Watercooler column......
Here's the Friday morning TV Guide Watercooler comments...
http://www.tvguide.com/TV/Watercooler/
Survivor
Bobby Jon described Brian as a "kamikaze that's going to bust a wedge." He then called the east coaster a good ol' boy and someone you'd want as a neighbor. Then he voted the skinny guy off. Interesting that the words that came out of his mouth didn't really coordinate with his actions, but Bobby Jon never really makes all that much sense to me. Especially his bizarre overreaction to the challenge, when he decided to get all up in Jamie's face. Jamie at least just wrote it off as "We're southern people. We're crazy and we know it." Meanwhile, Rafe won immunity and the chance to listen in on Yaxha's tribe. All he got to see was how Brandon acknowledged Amy's determination in the face of adversity. I swear Amy almost blushed. But a better reward would have been if one of the Yaxha's had a chance to eavesdrop in on Nakum's knock-down-drag-out discussion between Judd and Margaret. That was good television and led to Margaret's ultimate ouster. Oh, and during that same tribal council we got the Judd quote of the week: "It's not like we're being bad sportsmanship." I'd like to chalk his butchering of the English language up to all the beer (that may or may not have been his) that he drank, but on a weekly basis he comes up with a potent quotable. — Angel Cohn
