Vince - only one model BUT...

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

So if Vince gets into the Med, it might actually "thrive"?

I don't think so...the look of the system is similar...but the process to create a med hurricane in the middle of winter is different than this one I am sure. I doubt this system would do anything like that...just thinking the shape...and environmental conditions...may be somewhat similar.

September 1947, September 1969, January 1982, September 1983, and January 1995

Well... the pasting being what it is... if one was going to happen... I guess the "best times" are pretty much now, and then in January.

Interesting that 1947 and 1969 were active Gulf seasons...as was 1995...were active Atlantic seasons...of course Camille in 69 and 1947 I think there were...well let me look again...

Yep...South Florida...central Gulf type of seasons somewhat like this year.

Hmmm...although the 82/83 seasons were around a huge Nino...

Still...interesting.

Perhaps in more active seasons the waters that can support tropical development expand, and sometimes filter into the Med Sea, which is just another inlet of the Atlantic Ocean like the Gulf of Mexico or the Carribean. In extremely active seasons, or at least seasons with very high heat content in the water (total area of ocean where a storm can form) it extends all the way into the Med.

I think a Hurricane making landfall in Israel would probably convince me of the end-times, lol.
