Convection S of Cuba increasing and spinning

#1 Postby DAVE440 » Thu Oct 06, 2005 12:43 am

Last few hrs things have really started to heat up S. of Cuba.
Deep purple now...and definite spinning around what might be
a center of circulation forming.

Do you mean what is down by Grenada / Tobago area? (I can't get the link to load up for some reason) I've been watching that and wondering if it would be mentioned...

Fairly sustained MLC on WV/IR imagery. It will still take a while I'm sure.

Rain.....rain....rain....

#4 Postby knotimpaired » Thu Oct 06, 2005 2:37 am

We live in a typical tropical house with a tin roof so when it rains I generally wake up. How hubby sleeps through it is amazing.

Our weather station here at the house shows since midnight 1.42" and a total of 6.73" since the 1st.

And the radar is promising more.

Great for the plants but it plays havoc on having a BBQ.

He is our station info.

I can assure you that there is not one person on this island that is still asleep.

The thunder is the worst I have ever heard.

I sailed to your island when we were kids from Roosevelt Roads. Steve Lyons pointed out the disturbance nearby you on TWS. Possible development he said. Good luck.

Did you intentionally write a haiku? If so, not bad! :-)

She is pretty good.

She also owns a hot sauce company that is hailed as some of the best in the Caribbean! "Island Woman Hot Sauce".

It is getting verrrryyyy dark again, I feel more rain about to hit.

knotimpaired, I just have to compliment you on your web site, well designed and comprehensive. With some nice added touches too, like being able to listen to steel band or other "island" music while looking at it. Now that's unique :D

Yeah I did, and thanks 8-)

Thanks also Karen! Ok, you can have the PR job! Payment in hot sauce!

Lee & Karen rock on Vieques weather wise - nice as PR forecasts are usually reflecting San Juan, which can be a very different weather indeed from us (and she has the only cheney *plot* I know of outside the VI's!)
