#1 Postby fasterdisaster » Wed Oct 05, 2005 9:30 pm

So we all can vote again, now that the death toll is at 125, and rising.

Stan is a goner. I'd say he's more likely to be retired than even Emily.

Doubt it. There have been much worse storms in the area, much more deadly.

This is quickly turning into a catastrophe, if it isn't already. This is just horrible. I would much have rathered take the brunt of this cat 1 hurricane than for it to hit Mexico. We would've faired better...even in southeast La.

They've retired Cesar, Diana, Klaus, Agnes, and Allison. Why wouldn't they retire this?

So every storm has to be Mitch-like deadly to be relevant to you?

imagiine if it slowed down, turned major because we all know it would have been a major hurricane with a bit more time

Alright, not to sound cruel, but it doesn't take much of anything to kill lots of people in third world countries.

30 deaths in the U.S. from a hurricane packs a lot more "wow" factor than 30 deaths in Hati or Mexico from a hurricane.

30 deaths is 30 deaths, period.

I figured that comment would fly over most people's head.

Anyhow...

That area of Mexico is very flood prone and this was expected so I am not so sure that this name will be retired. If the toll tops 150 or so things might be reconsidered. Stan wasn't the most impressive, but it did produce mass amounts of rainfall. These people had plenty of warning.

I find that rather rude. 30 deaths is a tragedy whether it's in the U.S., Haiti, Mexico, wherever.

There is NO way that Stan won't be retired.

I don't have a doubt that it won't top 200. This NEEDS to be retired. I feel so bad for those people...such a small storm, yet so much destruction.

That's more of what I was getting at, thank you.
