LOL...I concur.

Well, it's moving due north, distancing itself away from the coast, moving over the Gulf Stream, and radar presentation is looking much better around the center. Hmmmmmmm.

Should I go ahead and start marinating the Crow?

(BTW I'm not sure it will become a 'cane either, but I think it's a bit early to discount such a forecast as bunk  ).

Nah....I'm mostly concurring that he's on crack, not the part that this will be a cane.

I would bet landfall at the Charleston area based on the WAG model.( Wild Azz Guess)

Actually... unless it gets some eastward component, it's not going to be long. 7 miles offshore now, and there's virtually nothing near the center.

That's actually a very good "guess" IMO.

1. See above for JB forecast verification for Katrina, which by the way was the best performance he had of the 3 I have verified. So far his track record with northward moving east coast systems this season is well below what the NHC has done on the same forecasts.

2. Recent reports from recon don't suggest the structure is there for a rapid intensifier. These two comments:

LITTLE CONVECTION NEAR CENTER.
FLAT TEMP GRADIENT.

indicate that the system...as we thought...has some hybrid characteristics and will need some baroclinic help to gather a lot of steam in a hurry. The shear letting up may actually slow the development process with less divergence aloft...and there isn't much time left for the system to transition to more of a warm-core system and intensify. Stranger things have happened...but the odds are small of this system becoming a hurricane before landfall.

I am far more concerned with the Yucatan system becoming a hurricane at some point than Tammy.

Looks like October isn't going to let up any time soon.

Winding up pretty fast? It looks terrible...and the strongest winds I can find looking at surface obs are gusts to 14mph. So far the strongest winds I have seen were last night when they were gusting to 45-50mph. JB has no idea what's happening.

That still supports 45mph at the surface.

Looks like Tammy wont be a Hurricane. Winds in Charleston and Myrtle Beach are only gusting to 35mph. Tammy is nothing but a huge blob of rain. Some locations may get some flooding due to the training effect from her bands. It is much needed rain that we need here in N.C. We are 13 or more inches off where we should be for most areas in the state.

Actually... the winds haven't gone up that much since last night. It just didn't have a closed circulation til this morning, so it has strengthened very slightly today.

what im actually trying to say if you dont like jb then dont read when someone puts a post up with his forecaste. I like him and enjoy watching his video and reading what he has to say. but some people just get on here and look for something to fuss or not agree with. i didnt say he was always right just said what he had said today. but you have those who think noone is right but them and they have to come back and say something about someone that they dont like. dont go in a topic if you dont think that person has anything to say that you dont agree with

well that is not really fair now is it. i wouldnt go onto someones thread and cut them down or what or who they like as a forecaster, and others should have enough respect and be a little more grown up in this room than to do that to someone else but i guess there are rude people where ever you go and its sad that they have to be here too in such a good forum where weather fans get togethere and enjoy the weathere cause its the only weather you got
