Tammy, The Yucatan...Fl Wx and Local Mets...

Interesting things here locally.

3 local mets had the low that became Tammy situated just off
the S.Fl coast and one said the low center was right over Broward County with all the convection to the north of the center. If that were true...
How did Tammy form so far north of the supposed low center? All of them said while showers were getting pulled north that the system was to move west during the day. That's not what I was seeing on the radar all night. Looked to me like the low was spinning off shore and the entire system was moving northward. The center of Tammy formed where it looked like it would if not a bit to the north. I don't see how that could've happened if the low was centered over Broward?

Of those 3 Local met Bryan Norcross was the only one to mention the
area that was then over the Yucatan mentioning it would likely exit and move in our direction. Since those usually exit land and dissipate over water... and here it comes.... that was a pretty good call.

Between what is now Tammy.... the Yucatan system...and the weather
pattern in general... Norcross said Florida is in for a 1 2 3 punch in terms of rain.

thats strange our local mets are all focused on tammy .......and im like forget that now.......i want to know whats up with (might be vince) down there in the yuctan!!!

If Im not mistaken, the third one would be probably be Megan Glaros on WPLG because she is the one that usually does the noon weather for Channel 10

sounds correct. well elita has actually become much better since she arrived on the scene and although i don;t thin she is going to be going against NHC very soon she does at least know her geography and does an acceptable job. megan has a ways to go but is adequate. Norcross wins by default. Elita and Megan win the looks department contest.
