Alas, another David here. The first "David" was the only one.

Retired in 1992....need I go on?

MBismyPlayground wrote:Nope so far have never seen mention of a Hurricane Elizabeth, Beth or even my middle, Faith.

Once, I recommended Elaine to replace Emily, but someone said it might sound too much like Elena. I also thought about Eve, but now say HECK NO to that name! I'm sorry, but already, before Emily has even been retired, I don't like the sound of Hurricane Eve one bit.

No, for that, I am hoping Emily is replaced, and also just for you, with Elizabeth.

According to that list, there has never been a Hurricane Marcus in the Atlantic. Was there a Hurricane/Typhoon/Cyclone Marcus in another basin?

No Jessica on the list...but my kids call me a hurricane all the time...considering my desk usually looks like one hit it after tracking storms for 6 months out of the year.

Sorry, but Eve sounds much more threatening if it replaces Emily than Elizabeth does.

Well I'm Ed. So, technically, I guess Edouard is as close as it'll come in the next few decades. 2008, 2008, I can't wait for 2008! ;)

I will be a kind hurricane :D

Tenacious too.
Hurricane John was the longest lasting storm of all time. And it was also the strongest storm of all time in the C-Pac basin with winds of 150kts.
