Low has formed in the gulf!!

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Welcome back! How did you make out? If it is posted elsewhere, please show the way! :D We've been very worried about you and Kelly.

I'll second that-Go Gators!

Go Gators!!!!!

Sorry, haven't been able to sit down and type it all out yet, but I will sometime soon after work and after I catch up on sleep. Can't really complain though if lack of sleep is my worst problem. At least I have a bed. :)

To put thread back on topic - I hope that that low dissipates/goes away/is abducted by aliens, whatever LOL In fact, I hope that ALL of them are for the rest of the season

Haha y'all are so silly. I don't necessarily love hurricanes either; but I DO love tracking them... It would be all kinds of awful if something formed out of this low in the Gulf. [Did no one see this coming? I certainly didn't!] Anyway, hopefully not much will come of this...

Miami NWS has interesting discussion on Gulf low from 3:58am this a.m.

THE MID/UPPER LOW WILL REMAIN NEARLY STATIONARY OVER THE E GULF
TONIGHT INTO EARLY WED. HOWEVER...GFS IS MORE AGGRESSIVE THIS
MORNING...SHOWING AN AMPLIFYING SHORTWAVE TAKING THE LOW OFF TO
THE NE SLOWLY BACK ACROSS THE AREA LATER WED...AND EVENTUALLY AWAY
FROM THE AREA THU. AM THINKING THAT WED COULD BECOME AN ACTIVE DAY
WITH POSSIBLY NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS...SOME STRONG...DEVELOPING.
REASON BEING INCREASING MOISTURE (PWATS TO 2 INCHES)...INCREASING
INSTABILITY (AS MID LEVEL TEMPS AGAIN FALL)...AND ALSO POTENTIALLY
SOME GOOD PVA FROM A VORT MAX NOW OVER THE NE GULF WHICH IS
PRODUCING THUNDERSTORMS AT THIS TIME. GFS SHOWS THIS PIECE OF
VORTICITY WRAPPING AROUND THE MID/UPPER LEVEL LOW AND ROTATING
ACROSS THE AREA WED AFTERNOON. SHOULD THIS OCCUR...WHICH SEEMS
REASONABLE...WEDNESDAY COULD BECOME ACTIVE. HOWEVER...GFS FORECAST
SOUNDINGS DO SHOW INCREASING MID LEVEL MOISTURE WHICH WOULD NEGATE
A SEVERE POTENTIAL. STILL IS SOMETHING TO WATCH. TRENDED POPS
UPWARD TO HIGH-END CHANCE CATEGORY FOR WED.

IT IS INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT...ALTHOUGH THE REMNANTS OF RITA
GOT PICKED UP BY A TROUGH...AT LEAST A SMALL PIECE OF HER ENERGY
MAY ACTUALLY BE THE AFOREMENTIONED VORT MAX NOW OVER THE NE GULF.
SATELLITE/WATER VAPOR LOOPS BACK IN TIME...AS WELL AS THE CIMMS
SATELLITE DERIVED VORTICITY SEEM TO SUGGEST THAT PERHAPS THE TAIL
END OF WHAT WAS LEFT OF RITA BECAME TRAPPED UNDERNEATH A RIDGE AND
SHUNTED BACK INTO THE GULF.

I hate to stray further from the topic of the thread, but with the risk of hearing from a moderator, I can't help myself. If you saw the flawless execution by Chris Leak and his offense, as well as the Gator defense in last Saturday's game, you might not be so optimistic in your prediction. Now, I say this as someone who promised during a fundraising thread, to donate $250.00 to S2K if the Gators win the SEC Championship. At the time, I thought for sure, that it was a bet that would keep my hard earned money safe. After seeing them play last weekend, I'm starting to consider what it is I will have to sell, to meet that obligation.

Shouldnt this thread be in off topics since it has turned into a sports related theme and not weather related?

Well, things are not really all that active to warrant such strict perusal of threads, so what the heck. But I agree that it has strayed. I was also wondering if we could get our avatars back until usage is more serious and for good reason. How about it, admins?
