Local Met calls for a new storm by weeks end!
KTVI (St. Louis) metrologist Dave Murray said that 99L could become Stan by the end of the week(AND I MEAN COULD), It needs watched closely. and I hate to even say this but he thinks this could be a GOM threat for next week

Our local met did not say this. He just said it was a wave and would need to be watched over the next couple of days, that it had the potential for development but was not a sure thing yet.
Honestly at this point, people who are saying much more than this are being alarmists. Let's see what the next few days bring.

I agree, inotherwords. I realize that everyone is on edge after the horrendous happenings of the last month but it appears that those most concerned aren't the ones who have suffered the most. I am as anxious as the next person but I think every little blob is getting blown out of proportion.
Not to be insenstitive to the many who are currently suffering, but I believe that this is a time to regroup, relax (for those of us fortunate enough to be personally unaffected by Katrina and Rita) and enjoy our friends and families. The season is far from over-take advantage of any lull that you can.
Also, we have a lot of smart and creative people on this board. Why not take this time to come up with a great idea to help our friends in MS. LA. Tx. and AL. if you haven't already?
