 Seems to be plenty of convection stirring just inside the African coast. Guess there is a loong way to go in this season.

if i understand things correctly, there's supposed to be a Monster Ridge setting up for later this week and next...so it may be hard for them to recurve...just my opinion

Could this explosion in waves over Africa be because of the favorable MJO phase and little SAL?

Very hard for storms to recurve, the gfs shows a monster ridge across the entire atlantic spreading far to the south, any weaknesses in the ridge will be hard to find. I think this ridge is supposed to last between 1-2 weeks. What I don't know is if it will make things more favorable out there for tropical development?

Well luckily many of the African waves have fizzzled, and lets just hope these follow suit.

If they persist till tomorrow, then I think they have a 60-40 % chance at development in the favor of development. Right now it's 50-50.

I've been trying to sit this season out. Besides our guys here at S2K and Radio NHCWX are exhausted.
