Yes I use toothpaste! What kind of silly question is that??? :roll:

Hehe jk. I use Colgate Total. The only scientifically proven toothpaste that protects your teeth against plaque.

Yep, I'm originally from West Virginia and I love to go barefoot, but I have all my teeth and am almost anal about caring for them and keeping them really white. I love anything made by Rembrandt and use a Sonacare toothbrush.

When I was growing up we had well water (and we had to carry it in from outside the house)lol jk. We had no floride in the water so my parents had our dentist paint this floride treatment on our teeth. yuk Anyway I have filling and crowns, but work very hard at having a good smile.

Did you know that the tooth fairy is from West Virginia?? If he weren't we would all call him the Teeth fairy.

We had well water too - my dentist gave us flouride pills, in addition to the yearly flouride treatment. Didn't help much though - seems like I had to have a filling every six months when I was growing up. :roll:

Crest cinnamon rush at our house. But that orange flavored one I can't picture trying. I love oranges, but brushing my teeth with that just seems wierd. Who knows, though? I could be missing out on a great thing.

Yep. Or at least when it came out a few years ago it was the only scientifically proven toothpaste to prevent tooth decay/disease. I'm not saying others aren't able to, but they don't have the backing. Thats why colgate total costs so dern much

Aquafresh Multi-Action Whitening (great taste) or Rembrandt Plus (not-so-great taste)

I'm also currently trying Crest Premium Plus Whitestrips. Although I can't seem to remember to keep the twice-a-day schedule they recommend, I notice a dimming of those coffee/tea/cola stains I've accumulated over the years. The product is somewhat expensive, but I'm happy -- just as long as I don't end up like Ross on the Friends episode where he overwhitened his teeth.... :lol:

yea i did those whitestrips too and i noticed my teeth were alot whiter........i think they work great!!!! :wink:

and yea it was kinda hard to remember to do it twice a day...

IMO, any dentist worth his salt will advise you to throw out all of the toothpastes, if you want to keep your teeth. Plain old baking soda is probably the best substance to brush with.

The results of a regular regimen of brushing with baking soda (along with Listerine as a mouthwash twice a day) is superior to what you'll achieve with any toothpaste presently on the market. Your teeth will be cleaner and your mouth will feel fresher.

(It appears that toothpaste manufacturers are finally "getting it" too. Some are adding baking soda to their products.)

Hey, don't take my word for it. Ask your dentist before making any changes to your routine.

Hey, can we morph this topic into a similar direction?

Let's talk toothbrushes!

Just when I find 'my' favorite toothbrush, they change the model. Or make the handles so fat they won't fit into our ceramic toothbrush holders. Just the tip can fit it in, so the the toothbrush is top heavy and wobbles, touching the mirror (more germs).

Then you have my dental hygenist, for about 5 or 6 checkups now, she's pushed me to purchase an electric toothbrush. I explain we change our toothbrushes a lot, after a cold or when we've been sick, they harbor tons of germs if you keep the same one, month after month. We're not made of money here....

I usually just buy our toothbrushes at the dollar store.

Does anyone find this frustrating too? The many styles they have available, how they keep changing them, and how pricey they are?

Yes, yes,yes. I agree. This whole thing started years ago. We used to like the plain ol *Reach* toothbrush, but now thats a laugh. The kids are just as frustrating. I have to lay them in the soap dish because the handles are to fat to fit in the ceramic holders. I want to buy them the dispoable battery operated ones but the always fall over and end up on the floor! They need suctioncups on the bootm of those things.

For me and my husband we also have bought from the dollar store, they are simple, like the good old days, just what you need and nothing more. And for my kids I have been buying the K-mart brand that gives you 2 in a package for .99 cents!!!! Again plain and simple. It seems like all the bells and whistles they are adding to toothbrushes might end up back firing on them. I know I don't like them at all for alot of reasons. I just want a plain old brush, that fits nicley in the ceramic holders I already have without having to buy something else to store them in. I don't have enough counter space in my bathrooms to do that anyway. Thank god for the dollar store and generic brands that just give you the basics. All you really need IMO.

I've used a Sonicare toothbrush since they came out with it. I just buy new heads for it. My dentist loves the shape my teeth are in and I love that clean feeling after I brush with it.
