And the sad thing is, there are still people in rural Mississippi without power. I read in the Hattiesburg American newspaper yesterday that one rural electric power company said there were at least 100 of their customers in rural south MS without power....and I thought 2 weeks without electricty was bad!

Ohhhh... I don't know. In my opinion, the tape has been mostly non-red and the response has been generally right on time!

I checked the link of the pictures last night. Odd that he snapped a picture or two of the hotel that my daughter's ex fiance and his family were staying at. They were lucky in that although the hotel was hit by the surge, it wasn't as high as it could have been. Surge made it to the bottom of the 2nd floor and was lapping over the edge of the 2nd floor walkway. My daughter's ex said that some of the people staying there had begun to break out the skylights that lead to the roof just before the water began to recede. He said they were frightened, to say the least! He snapped some pictures of the surge entering their 1st floor room, the parking lot, and of the K-Mart's parking lot during the surge. He also took some "after" shots. It was amazing how the water had moved the vehicles around in the parking lot.

before sept 29 I have never spent more than 7 consecutive days away from my home during the past 30 years... now its been 4 excruciatingly long weeks.... how I miss being in my home and seeing my beautiful view of the Gulf... looking forwarded to my FEMA trailer and at least getting the view back....

Yeah, Frank, I can only imagine how you feel. Plus, now that Hwy 90 is pretty torn up, the traffic would be rather limited too!! At least that'll be nice for a while.

And for me, before August 29 (which is what Frank meant, I believe) I have never spent more than two weeks away from ANY job since I started working in my early teens of the early 70's. Now, it's been four weeks since I've even had a job to go to, or even the prospect of one on the horizon. That is one WEIRD feeling - no doubt. I mean, here it is Tuesday morning and I'm playing around on the web... Wife's in the same boat, but it's driving her a lot more crazy than it is me!!

On a related note - anybody know of anyone looking for an experienced HR Training Manager with 26 years experience?? I'd even consider relocating to anywhere on the central to southern west coast of FL!!

Cant believe it. As some you know we just moved from Meridian, Miss. We still have our house and all our stuff there since my dad is living there for a few more months hopefully thats all. Anyways we suffered damage from several trees on our house and windows blown out from flying objects:( Nothing to major thank god! Well we got our power back about 1.5 weeks after Katrina. Just lost it again as sadly a Tornado went through our community from Rita. Again we suffered damage from down trees and our big full garbage can was throw into our big bay window and shattered. At least we are not as bad off as some but it sure stinks. God Bless Everyone!
