For those of us who have made cash donations to our favorite charities and earmarked it for Hurricane Katrina, please note that those charities can not use the funds for anything else including Hurricane Rita relief. This does not apply if you made a donation to the Hurricane Relief Fund but more funds will be needed to cover these twin disasters.
I had heard that funds could not be co-mingled earlier but it has been repeated more today. So...for those in a position to do so, I urge you to open your wallets once again for the newest victims. Check with your charity to see if they have a general relief fund or if their funds are disaster specific.
