Early damage estimates

$2.5 - $5 insured. Are final damages double that of insured damages... or are insured damages the final number, the double of reports? I can't remember.

I have a feeling it will go up, though, as I have not heard much of anything about Lake Charles and SW Louisiana... mainly just about Texas. But good news is no direct deaths reported!

i would luv to know how they (and why they) always try to come up with these figures before they can even get in the effected area's to get at least a brief overview on how the area's are impacted.

Im curious to see how much damage Rita really caused. It almost feels like every year, storms become the new costilest natural disasters in US history.
