Major 2 alarm apartment fire in Clear Lake(SE Houston)

#1 Postby vbhoutex » Sat Sep 24, 2005 3:11 am

Winds in that area are running sustained around 50-60 mph and they are doing their best to fight the fire which is nearly impossible. It is in a mandatory evac zone, but they do not know if anyone is still in the complex. Fire is too intense to do any search at this point.

 Well, if it's in the mandatory evac zone then hopefully everyone there headed the warning and left. With all the transformers blowing in the region and possibility of trees knocking live lines onto homes wouldn't be surprised to see a few mores fires. Goes to show moderate TS winds can be dangerous.

Also had 3 buildings burn in Galveston, one of which was of historic value(105 yrs old). Also Yaga's Restaurant has had a wall collapse.

My sister's friend insisted on staying in her apt in Clear Lake. Sure hope that's not her complex...

That's the complex I lived it. It had another fire last Decemeber (a week after I moved out) that only got one building (the one I lived it) but now, apparently its ALL gone and they suspect arson.
