SO FAR NOT TOO BAD.....

#1 Postby audioslave8 » Fri Sep 23, 2005 11:26 pm

Mark Sudduth is sitting in his tahoe just a little north of Port Arthur where the center will be near soon. He says so far not nearley as bad as Katrina Charley or Alex. He said he isnt getting those horrific wind gusts that Katrina and charley produced as well as the rainfall too. This storm looks to stall out so thats whats going to be the headliner on this one.

Surge is going to be the big story and then the inland flooding. I'm thinking significant death toll from the flooding. Most people are out of the surge area.

the catastrophic inland flooding scenario is shaky at best considering the topography

Yeah, well if he sits still, in another hour or two he'll get hit by an intense north eyewall. I bet the buggy'll be rockin then, if not blowing down the street.

Max winds are about 20nm in Rita -- still a ways away but likely to hit Port Arthur.
