if you had a bullseye on houma it wouldn't be that funny. people may be overreacting, but this ain't some td coming to the coast. (and don't tell me you had katrina aimed at you b/c you were always on the clean side).

p.s. have a nice day.

During the NHC/HPC conference call (the one at 9am)...the HPC actually verified why Rita had jogged wnw-nw and stated the movement would end by later today and that a west track for a while would happen when the ridge started to move eastward. So...this is not a surprise. That's why I liked their track of just east of GLS island near High Island...rather than the NHC's which was about 20 miles to the east. They have been very good on this storm with the internal forecasts and have out-performed the NHC by showing trends earlier.

So props to the HPC for calling a west track for later today.

im sorry, but we have only had 2 images that have shown a west wobble, shouldnt we have more before we call it a west track?

Calm down dude...I've been through a hell of a lot of hurricanes. I find it hilarious how people are agruing over wobbles and posting a new topic on each and every wobble. There's no reason for that. That's why this forum gets so slow at times.

Had they mentioned the NW trend since yesterday? This is the 1st that I have heard, that they had forecasted this?

YUP, Guess it's due west from here on out

Seriously this will go on for the next day and a half yall. Chill and just be prepared if you are in the landfall possibility areas. Its gonna go where it wants and there isnt a thing we can do or say about it. Just do what you have to do to take care of yourselves and your families.

Well, it all depends how often your satellite updates.

For me, it's 2315, 2325, 2332, 2340, and 2345.

You must of had a gap between images...

I'll be honest and say this is a wobble, unless it continues for a few more images..

I don't know why people are arguing. If you think it's a wobble fine, If you think it's a pronounced movement fine. But the arguing needs to stop.

Oh ok, do you mind posting there discussions?

These wobbles are going to become critical for Houston/Galveston... you'll be so much better off if it misses to the east.
