This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

So what has happened with Rita?

#1 Postby smashmode » Thu Sep 22, 2005 8:45 am

SO my question for the people in the know.

What has happened to make this more of a LA storm now, then a texas like everyone predicted?

What has happened that forecasters did not think would happen?

Historical precedents. As noted previously, almost all GOM storms trend north and easterly in the long run -- as you said, due to climatic conditions.
