Rita could still have cat 1 winds Sunday morning when she s expected to be in the Dallas area :( I gotta make preparations fast

Could be a bad scenerio for ya if it stalls out and moves back southwest which they are saying is possible now. rain amounts could be 15 to 30 inches of rain in some places. I hope the best for you. Take care and move to higher ground if your in a flood zone.

Dallas isn't that far west. But 15 to 30 inches of rain would be shocking for DFW!

The local mets aren't sounding an "all clear" for this area just yet. But they are being cautious with the forecasts considering there is a possibility Rita could still move further West, and then there is the stalling factor. I seriously doubt DFW will have Cat 1 winds. Points South and East just might, but not here.

Looks like a dual threat... winds strong enough to down trees and cause power outages... and possibly, depending on the track, catastrophic flooding.
