Goodbye

#1 Postby KLP124 » Thu Sep 22, 2005 5:52 am

As I sit here typing, I feel like I'm going to throw up. I just looked at the 4 a.m. update and am shocked to see the NHC forecast track has shifted and now has Rita aiming right for me. I live 18 miles inland in an old wooden house. I'm numb. I don't think there will be nything left when I get back. We're heading north as soon as we get everything packed. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

I know exactly how you feel--many of us do. Godspeed and be safe on your evacuation trip. Please let us know that you're ok after the storm if you can (both of you).

Y'all take care! Know that there are many folks thinking about you and praying for your safety. I wish you all a safe evacuation.

I don't want to hear that. My 95 year old great aunt lives in Beaumont. I was nervous before but this really makes me sick. Mom talked to her cousin yesterday and they didn't think it was coming near them. I hope they leave.

Beaumont's right by the border right? Well, you'll get a good part of the west side but it shouldn't be too bad. Of course I don't know how old your house is... but I'd be willing to bet it'll still be there.

Good luck to all of you and yours in the potential path. Many of us are almost as devastated as you are-the tears are just beneath the surface. Be safe and check in when you can. Don't forget to leave your contact number(s) with a Mod.
