Since the other thread was locked and my question is still unanswered, I'm asking again....

Can someone tell me what the numbers on the right side of the loop mean?

Slightly off-topic....I knew the low hurricane-tropical storm ratio wasn't going to last forever. I knew it wouldn't be 8/2/2 or 10/3/2 for very long. I thought that all those storms early having winds at 65-70 mph but not quite being hurricanes was a hint, and unfortunately I was right.
But back to Rita, the 9th hurricane of the season. I'm extremely concerned for the residents of coastal Texas about this one. I think it becomes a major hurricane either tomorrow or Thursday and strikes Friday night somewhere between Corpus Christi and Galveston for now.

There's a piece of energy (short wave trough) diving down into the Tenn Valley toward north GA that looks a little stronger than previously thought. Any thinking that this may pull Rita a little more NW at least over the short term? The last several hours of radar loops seems to indicate a W-NW movement rather than due west.
