Dudes - the Dudette's gettin' a Dell!

#1 Postby breeze » Sun Sep 04, 2005 9:54 pm

LOL, well, it looks like the old 6-yr.old Compaq Presario is trying to
bite the big green weenie! It's been a good peice of equipment, but,
it's lacking in keeping up with technology, now. So....the new Dell
Dimension 3000 with the processer upgrade to 3.0 GHZ is on it's
way (don't even laugh - you don't know what I have, now!)
and, it should be here by Thursday. AND...remember me as the
"Dial-Up Queen"? Not anymore....I just ordered DSL from BellSouth,
and, it should be here Sept. 12th.

Dang....it hurts my frugal old purse, but, I am lagging too far behind,
and, it's time to "Get 'Er Done!!!"

Congrats there DUDETTE! The dude also got a dell (Dell Inspiron 6000 notebook to be exact)! And I love it! We also have Bellsouth's DSL service and don't have any complaints. Enjoy and best wishes.

LOL, thanks, everyone - I can't wait to get it!

Oh, Ed - you've GOT to be next, my friend. LOL, I usually get
clothes in and out of the washer and dryer while waiting on
downloads and loading pages. I won't get ANY housework done,
now...

I really considered a laptop, ohiostorm. My friend, Carole, uses
her laptop for school (she's getting her Master's Degree in Nursing)
and she travels a lot to conferences. My surfing is for mere pleasure
and fun...e-mail, Storm2K, and the occasional surfing to find articles
for my Doctor, or, typing Staff Meeting notes. The desktop suits
me perfectly. Thanks for the input on Dell....too many people have told
me that it's the way to go.

LOL, well, Kathy - the BellSouth DSL has arrived in a small box.

The Dell PC, which was originally due to arrive on Friday,
Sept. 9th, has a rescheduled arrival of Tuesday, Sept. 13th.
Seems like Hurricane Katrina has affected UPS, even though we
didn't get damage this far north!

I'm putting a sign on my back door to tell the UPS person
"Family Member in House Next Door WILL Sign for Packages"
with a -------> toward my brother's house, next door.
I would've been home, Friday evening, early -
on Tuesday, I'm at work 'til 5pm or later, depending on the workload.

Let's all take a deep breath, now, and, chant......

"Breeze, Dell! Breeze, Dell! Breeze, Dell!"

You will love it! I got a Dell 3000 after having a Pentium...don't laugh III. Just a month ago I upgraded to DSL through bellsouth. You will love the DSL too and wonder how you ever made it with dialup.

Hey there Dudette...aka Breeze!

Now whatever you do, don't put a lot of stuff on that Dell from work. You know, notes and schedules and things that seem like you could do them from home!

Your new Dell is surely not designed to have the heavy load of caring for the office too. Only to enjoy at home and have fun!

Wish someone would have been there with a camera when Dude Steven brought the Dell to your door!!

LOL, Steve, I am NOT - I repeat, NOT - going to use this PC for
work-related deeds!

I've noticed - what's funny, is, I click on a link - I'm used to waiting
for the page to load while I do something else, and, I look up and
say, "Oh - ummm...there's the page, loaded...."
