West Coast of Florida More Vulnerable than East Coast Now

#1 Postby gatorcane » Sat Sep 10, 2005 12:39 am

The following post is NOT an official forecast and should not be used as such. It is just the opinion of the poster and may or may not be backed by sound meteorological data. It is NOT endorsed by any professional institution including storm2k.org For Official Information please refer to the NHC and NWS products.

I will be looking to the GOM and Caribbean for West Coast of FL threats now until the end of October. I feel the East Coast of FL is safe the rest of the season. The west coast is more vulnerable.

That to me is really going out on a limb saying that...

Yes, but still to say...I feel the East Coast of FL is safe the rest of the season...is very irresponsible.

It's an opinion. I am confident about it. Katrina was the threat this year. I just don't see anything materializing for the E. coast.

Again everybody, look at the disclaimer. I am just an amateur so please know that my opinion is not a professional one.

Chris, but peeps who live in east FL and don't know any better may take an opinion like that as 'gospel' is all.

Peace,

Eric

I know. But you're also not a psychic. :) There is no climatalogical or meteorlogical reason (that I know of) to believe that the east coast of Florida is "safe" until October 31st and that the west coast is going to eat it. You're just guessing, or, as we say, -removed-. You may as well predict the the chance of rain for Dayton, Ohio, at 4' oclock on this day in the year 4022. I say 20%.

Now, on the other hand, if you can explain why you are confident about it (in meteorlogical or climatalogical terms), then I know I personally will cut you some slack for trying. But I don't think you're trying, I think you're guessing. :)
