At least you and your family are OK and that's what matters!

I know the folks in Mobile...and even Pensacola now know...a hurricane is NOT A POINT.

Glad to hear you're safe Mobilebay. I have a question ---- did you stay in Mobile for the storm--- I know you didn't stay in your mobile home, but did you stay local? I can't figure out why we got so much damage. I stayed and wasn't scared at all during the storm. There were more trees down after Ivan than Katrina - at least in my area. Am I just in shock? I know our low areas were severly damaged from flood, but the higher areas were damaged in ways I have not seen before ---- like brick fences down. The winds just didn't seem strong enough here to have created some of the damage I've seen. Someone said they were swirling differently than other storms. Is that possible?

Although you still have your most precious asset-your life, my heart goes out to you and all of the others who lost so much. Although we have been glued to the TV for over a week, the enormity of it all just doesn't seem real. Take care of yourself (all of you who have been impacted) in the long days, weeks and months ahead.

Hi Mobilebay -- I cannot even imagine how horrible it is to come home and discover your house is destroyed!

I'm glad that you've already had contact with FEMA, but it will likely be a long process. If you ever start to feel like you're just another "number" in this nightmare, remember that you have all of us here.

Take care and stay in touch,
SB
