Mississippi river warehouses

#1 Postby cancunkid » Sat Sep 03, 2005 9:12 am

Can anyone tell me what had been in the warehouses along the Mississippi that was currently on fire? I am not familiar enough with the area to even guess what might have been in them.

latest from the AP:

Fire rages in a warehouse near French Quarter

NEW ORLEANS (AP) _ A raging fire is burning warehouses located
less than a mile from New Orleans' French Quarter.

The blaze is sending smoke that ranges from green to charcoal
black billowing over rows of warehouses.

The fire on the east bank of the Mississippi River is also
buckling corrugated roofs an` setting off tiny explosions. And a
concrete loading dock area is the only thing separating the fire
from a triple line of tanker cars.
