Wow... it is looking very good right now.
Also, does anyone remember 1997? It was a strong El Nino year... practically everything that developed in the western and central Pacific Ocean exploded into a typhoon or supertyphoon. There were a lot of supertyphoons then... one I remember was Winnie.

Well the JMA have this reaching 105kts which converts to 122kts in one minute averages. - Currently 95kts with a central pressure of 930hPa as of 6pm GMT.

Yep... JTWC has it at 140 kt(160 mph Cat 5).

There quite often seem to be these sort of differences. I've had a quick look at the Korean Met Administration page and they have it listed at 46m/s which is following the JMA's advisories.
Brent: I agree it looks impressive but remember this isn't the Atlantic.
