If the highs and ridges stay weak which they should with all
the Katrina's influence, then many of them will likely be fishes.
But it is too early for me to tell.

It almost seems at this point that these new weather posts aught to be posted somewhere else. I know this is a weather/storm board, but hearing of more storms seems like the end of the world on top of whats happening now. Maybe all our conversations of katrina's aftermath should be on another board.. Heck i dont know what im saying, do any of you?
Im all confused and upset and scared anymore.

Katrina influence will be long gone soon....the troughs and lows could easily be replaced by ridges in September, where Cape Verde storms have the highest chances of thriving and making the journey across

I understand your frustrations, Noah. I am so with you.
Maybe it was last year that made me so obsessed with human suffering. I talk to friends/relatives who aren't even aware of what is going on in LA/MS/AL, and I'm sick - how could anyone not be as obsessed as I am with watching and wanting to help these people! That is my thought process, and on several work calls today, I had to have people repeat things to me or further clarify as I'm so "out of it".

Me too, though they are still on Africa! How do we know they will fish or even form? I agree the GOM and Bahama's are closed.WeatherEmperor wrote:I know Im seeing that but pretty much every wave that has come off Africa thus far this season has died off. They just arent developing and quite frankly, it doesnt bother me tat much.

That is what scares me the most. I predict an active Cape Verde September due the weak Cape Verde activity thus far this hurricane season.

Yes, i understand..I admit i get excited about some storms, but not when they get real big and devastating, i believe i have lsot my interest in the excitement of the hurricanes anymore, my fear is to high, and can't handle thoughts of the suffering, human sacrafice and being so helpless here.
I fear the summers in florida now.. have some thinking to do i guess.
No excitement coming from this storm2k supporter from any hurricane anymore, only watching to protect my loved ones and my animals.
We will fly out of the state of any inpending hit.

Cape Verde season may not be as active as everyone wishcasted, but it will be active. I suspect the real damage will still crop up from the homebrew storms... just as katrina has proved the gulf is absolutely teeming with warm water and when the conditions get favorable, there is no stopping the strengthening and nowhere to go but the gulf coast.
