Yes she will become the most costiest storm. She hit a very large area with alot of people/homes/business/budges in which it has distoryed countless towns or cities. You can't say that about Andrew that "only" did its dirty work in a retirement dade county. No Katrina is flooding a Major city which is New orleans. In with 80 percent under water. Some areas up to 20 feet.

There is no way this storm is going to be less then 50 billion dollars. In maybe more.

This is my option. Yes Andrew was bad but he was a compacted thing like Charley. This is what we have feared. In which not only is tha large/huge hurricane of cat4 power hits the united states. But it also doe's great damgae to a major city.

So your going to believe soming that came out Yesterday? In which they did not have a idea on the damage? New orleans in all this other damage is going to cost alot more then a small area of winds little Andrew done. Not trying to degrade Andrew because he was bad. But this caused a Heck of alot more damage.

actually the revised estimate was from this morning....up from 15 yesterday......it will go higher but not make it to 45 billion imo.

andrews damage was not "in a small area"...it ripped nearly completely across the peninsula.....and was still a cat 3 at 2nd landfall in la.

Katrina is far from dead. Millions of people across the midwest and Northeast as well as eastern Canada will have to deal with her still.

...also, HPC is issuing advisories on Katrina, starting at 4pm CDT.
