Affect of tides

Does anyone know if it was high tide when Katrina hit and, if so, what affect that may have had on the flooding and storm surge? Thank you.

Yes it was a high tide when Katrina hit -don't think the tidal range (ie difference between MEAN average high and low tides is that high though as I thought I heard something mentioned about this.
