There will undoubtedly be more storms to come. As far as how many, possible tracks, and intensities, who knows. The fact that we are not even to the peak of hurricane season is not a good sign. Like all of us, you will have to watch, wait, and hope that none will impact land.

Generally as the hurricane season progresses the hurricanes head more south.......ie more likely for Miami and Key West to get hit than further up the east coast of USA. But a hurricane is an unknown entertiy and if you have a look at lots of maps they can literally tie themselves in nots sometimes - look at Jeanne last year

Looks like you should be ok for minimum of a 10 days before any significant storm comes...but weather can change very suddenly....you should have a good couple of days warning of any significant storm!

This would never work, but honestly... Florida lets say, should impose a law that persons under 18 cannot live in the state. And for states with a hot bed of hurricanes, something like 80 miles from the shore line persons must be 18 or older. This because, schools for one. After a hurricane, rebuilding a school cuts into education time. It's a major disruption in the kids life. It could affect how they live when they are older. Two is children. It should be classified as "child abuse" to have children under 18 living in major hurricane prone area's. You are endangering their lives, especially for those who don't evacuate. Maybe, if all goes like they say for the next 20 to 40 years, this type of law might go into effect.
