Parts of downtown was without power for SEVEN weeks! I can show you a power bill if you want me to!

The power system in MS and LA has to be pretty shredded. It will take several days just for the crews to even get out to all of the areas, especially due to the amount of high water. A month, I would think, would be a best case scenario. Remember that Charley was a small, compact, extremely fast moving storm that affected a much smaller swath. It was like a large tornado really. The area affected by Katrina has to be a hundred-fold. As much as I hope I'm wrong, I think there will be parts of NOLA and Gulfport that will be power-less for at least a month.

And remember they said "all" areas. Those flooded areas will take a long time to bring online, even if the other areas are pretty straightforward to fix.
