I hope we dont see another landfalling storm, I hope we dont see ANY storm for that matter. Katrina was another reminder that rooting for storms is like rooting for death and economic hardships.
I've been through Allison and lost a lot of material items when my house was flooded. Nothing compared to what many on the Gulf Coast are going through right now. I hope and pray that everyone recovers as quickly as possible. You dont ever fully recover from something of this nature, you just hope to move on and file it way back in your mind.
Please make donations to the Red Cross, they are front line help and are the lifelines for many of these people. This is on the scale of 9/11 and I hope our giving matches that.
Hug your kids tonight, I know I will. Be thankful you have a roof over your head.

I agree totally. But, nature is still going to do what it is going to do regardless. And I am very lucky that while my area from what I told got only minor damage and I still have something to go home to. And I feel very sad for the my family members in Kenner and Picayune who may have nothing to come home to. And I am very sad about all the people in SE Louisiana and the MS coast who lost their homes or their lives. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.
