Wind won't be as big of an issue with New Orleans, but it never really was about the wind. If you people think that Lake Poncatrain won't flood New Orleans, you are incredibly naive.
The waves will crash over the levees and fill up New Orleans like a bowl. There have been studies done that the levees fail in Cat 2 storms.
Cat 3 winds. Cat 5 storm surge, remember Ivan

I have no doubt the surge going north, in the direction of the storm, will be increadible. Biloxi=done.
However lake ponchartrain needs to redirect that flow with north winds as the eye goes to the east, if the surge is going to be pushed back south against the lake levees.
Im not sure the winds are gonna be strong enough on the left side of the eye to do that. I wouldnt rule it out but its becoming less likely IMO.
We'll see later.
