Almost completely eroded, could potentially be very good news.

It should be, the flow is directly off the land with a long overland trajectory. This is typical of land interaction effects as a strom approaches landfall. Doesn't help the people of the other side very much though.

Something is not right...

Local weatherman just saw that frame and was like wow... thats an interesting shot.

He said the rain was actually building back west, so that shot must be a glitch or a MAJOR breakdown in the last few minutes.

Interesting to say the least.

Well, I think it's a valid shot, but the satellite wasn't taking pictures for awhile. Check out the loop below and look at the time. Right before the last shot, there's like a 3 hour block that the Satellite doesn't show. It jumps from 3:45 to 6:15 We'll know if it's a glitch or not on the next frame.

convection building back west (And in the immediate East and NE eyewall) has been interesting me for the last 20-30 minutes. It seems that the dry air/missing storm that were showing up for a while have gone away. While the trough has done a number on the west side of the katrina, I think the convection going around has to be a sign that it is starting to get its act back together.

Almost looked like the eyewall opened to the South there for a minute

You can clearly see the three eyewalls in the radar image posted above.

i think the southern eyewall disappearance may have been a result of the intense squall that went thru the radar site.....the disappearance and reappearance seems to correlate...
