From Prince Edward Island, Canada, our prayers are with you. I have never been to NO, but some of our Acadian ancestors are down there and add a rich diversity to a beautiful city.

I pray that everyone in Katrinas path stays safe. I feel so helpless, and praying is the only thing I feel like I can do to help at the moment. May the good Lord protect you and yours.

Amen

Please know that much of the nation is watching in helpless desperation. I just got home from a large popular crowded diner and every TV in the place was tuned into the Weather Channel. The normally noisy locals were almost silent while watching Katrina reports and radar pics. As much as we went through here last year, Katrina is almost incomprehensible to us. What we do understand is that many, many peoples' lives are getting ready to change for months, years, or even forever.

Please leave if you are directed to, especially if you have children.

Hugs, hope and prayers to all in Katrina's path.

I'm far from religious, and even I said a short prayer this morning. Don't know what else I can do. :(

Be wise, be smart, be safe, be as calm as you can but trust your instinct . Get out of her way, NOW.

Godspeed to all of you.... all of us will be waiting to hear from each and every one of you all when it is over.

From Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe, all my prayers are for you, guys in Missi,Louisiana;i feel the effects of some infamous hurricanes, and i know what winds of 120kts means. But these winds were gusts of CLEO in1964.
So i don't know what a sustained 150kts,with gusts of 175,means,but i can imagine....Take this thing very seriously, and, you have to know that local effects can worseen the intensity of the wind(hills,coasts...)that's named "the venturi effect".During Hurricane Hugo that devastated my island, the storm was attented by 120kts sustained winds;but with this effect ,gusts of 160kts have been recorded...So,take care of you my friends,a hurricane is really a nightmare.Hope,it will no clame lives.
See you later....

This is a very unreal time that we live in...May God have mercy on the good people of New Orleans, Biloxi, Mobile, and all points along the Gulf Coast from Morgan City, LA to about the AL/FL border. I have traveled many times through this area, and it breaks my heart to see this happen. May God be with these people now, and be with our nation to help this area rebuild for years to come once the storm passes on. May the Good Lord bless and be with everyone right now.

My heart and prayers go out to all that will be effected by Hurricane Katrina. From the power of the storm itself to the months/years of recovery I pray for you all.

This on top of my own personal tragedy today is making me just sick. Literally.

God Bless everyone and our Storm2K friends in her wake.

Being a Storm Chaser from the UK I cannot help but look in amazement at Katrina. However, with this storm I am also praying for everyone who will be affected by this storm. PLEASE PLEASE stay safe and protect yourselves and your families.

I am so concerned I don't know what else to say. If you still have time to evac. now might be the time.

Warmest Regards

Matthew

I'm having difficulty in wrapping my mind around this situation and I've been living it for the past 36 hours.

In case anyone cares...we made it to our evac destination.

Looks like I'm going to be homeless and unemployed in a few hours.

Think this might be a good time to begin drinking heavily?

I am concentrating my heartfelt positive affirmations for safety, strength, and comfort for all in the path of this horror.

Prayer for Protection:
The Light of God surrounds you.
The Love of God enfolds you.
The Power of God protects you.
The Presence of God watches over you.
Wherever you are, God is.
And so it is. Amen.
