Mayor Nagin (N. O Mayor)
is getting ready to hold a press conference and will likely order a mandatory evacuation!!!! GRIDLOCK will develop on the Interstates. Let hope they get where they need to be before the faster moving KATRINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blame Katrina... not the mayor. Would you rather not evacuate and have thousands drown??? I think not... the lawsuits would, rightfully so, be much worse.

He is doing it now due to a conference call he had with the National Hurricane Center last night. He did call for a voluntary evacuation yesterday afternoon.
What you need to realize is there are LEGEL aspects that need to be in place before a mandatory evacation can be called for.

yeah it's really nuts.....it's not safe to have any shelters in the city....the city is going to be UNDERWATER.
They were directing people to shelters in Alexandria and further north
