what about folks inland

i'm concerned with the media focus on the coastline, but with a Cat 5 people inland should be gravely concerned as well. I also wonder how far people evacuated from the coast, and that depending on which direction they went, they still will be experience hurricane force winds

Flooding would be as much of a concern as the winds, if not more. Last night, one of the cable news channels' mets strongly advised evacuees to head west or east, not north, stating that if they went north, they would still experience heavy rains and winds from Katrina.

It will Cat1 deep into MS, and AL, prepare for power outages. (food,water, etc)
