We are out of here-evacuating to Ville Platte, Louisiana
Well, we were originally going to ride it out here in Terrebonne Parish. But, when my parents woke up this morning and found out it was a 5 and still heading this way, they freaked out. So, we are getting ready to leave to my aunt and uncle's house in Ville Platte, LA. North of Lafayette, but well inland. I am not sure what we will find when we get back. But, we have insurance. They say they don't want to take any chances with our lives with this one. I will try to keep everyone update from my aunt and uncle's computer over there. Because even when we make it back home, we probably won't have power for quite awhile. So, if I am not online for awhile, don't freak out. I am really nervous. Very worried about my 83-year old grandpa. He won't leave his home in Thibodaux even though there is a mandatory evacuation of Lafourche Parish.

Brings back memories. Can't believe it has been nearly 7 months. I remember how nervous we were leaving that morning. Not knowing what was going to happen or if we would have anything to come home to. I am sure many people felt the same way. I will never in my life forget that day and the horror that was to come for many months afterwards. Wondering why we were spared and so many were not. We were spared by only 50 miles by Katrina's fury.
