NONE - repeat - NONE of Joe's columns on accuweather nor the videos nor anything confirms this.

Now, he might have been talking about potential and, if you look at the water heat content maps, they say Category 6 is possible.

I saw a blurb about Joe B saying winds could hit Mach 1 at landfall. he predicted that louisana would be come an island. he advised buying property in arkansas quickly because it would be beach front property soon.

Bastardi is the Jerry Bruckheimer of meteorologists.

Hey, they have the same initials.

Has anybody attest to seeing them together?

...c'mon...cut JB some slack here people

everything was misinterpreted...I watched that segment and he said the 90+ water temperatures COULD support a 200 mph hurricane...he never said Katrina would reach it. I recall him saying around 140 to 150.

I understand that Joe goes off the deep end sometimes and gets worked up too much, but the man gets bashed too much sometimes. sometimes, it's deserved. why he even mentioned a 200 mph hurricane in a time like this is pretty stupid in the first place. don't get me wrong, I can't really defend him too much, but this was taken out of context.
