To anyone in or around New Orleans that's here

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

To anyone in or around New Orleans that's here

2 words.. GET OUT!

I'm not trying to be a doom and gloom type guy here.. But for the sake of your own human life.. Please evacuate..

New Orleans could be in for a catastrophic situation here.. especially if "God help us".. Katrina becomes a 4 or even a 5!

Please move to safer areas if you haven't already done so.. I don't wanna know how bad this is gonna get.. But we'll sadly find out on Monday and Tuesday..

I think most that could have left, left already, or are leaving early in the morning. Contraflow seems to be working pretty good so far.

Good point sky..

1 question.. If you are 50 miles south of New Orleans, aren't you right on the GOM shore..?

Pretty close....the coast is about 20 miles to my south. The only reason why I'm still here is because my job requires me to stay.

Sky I'm in Chauvin, about 10 miles southeast of you. Wish you could leave I know I'm nervous. Heading out tonight.

IF you stay...you might consider writing the name and phone number of your next of kin with permanent marker on some part of your body.

I just asked my mom and dad to do that...it got their attention.

I don't think I'd even consider writing my name and stuff down.. It'd be too creepy.. Almost like saying.. "I know this things gonna kill me"

Maybe creppy to you but what a good way to make people REALISE this is no time to mess around and think seriously of leaving if they are suppose too???? I personnally like the thought behind the idea.

I'm an engineer for a wireless company. The US Government has signed us as primary means of communication during an emergency so we must do what ever it takes to try and keep communications up. Of course, I will not be going outside till it's over though.
